This site is located at the northwest of Bangkok, adjacent to the serene canal to the north and the owner’s brother house to the east which is affected by the big flood in 2011. As a result of these conditions with additional the other living factors of the owner (no air conditioning, flexible outdoor space) are the problem that an architect has to solve.

The idea of the space and some of the architectural elements was inspired by “the traditional Thai house.” Creating a elevated house to avoid floods and to improve ventilation and open space. The veranda on the second floor is placed facing the north and the east in order to interact with the canal and the owner’s brother house. Afterward a flexible outdoor space was created to allow a transition space just like the ground floor.
